A distinct advantage to seeking technical advice from ABS is the ability to quickly come up with the possible
causes for your domestic appliance fault.
Once the possible causes are determined, quality advice and instructions can
be given to narrow down, locate and put the fault right.
For example, if your enquiry was based on a washing machine not draining, there would be 3 possible causes for this:
- Blockage - needs unblocking.
- Jammed drain pump impellar - needs freeing.
- Faulty drain pump - need a new one.
The aim of ABS would be to help identify the fault by quickly explaining how to eliminate each possible cause untill
the actual fault is found. Advice on how to get to the root cause of this problem can be given in under ten minutes.
There are many instances when you would need technical advice to help you solve a problem Read more.

Hot Tips
It pays to give the full picture of events leading up to the fault occuring as well as unusual hapenings in your home,
even if it may not seem to be a factor.
Take the following real case scenario for example:
I was called out to a house where lots of building and plumbing work was going on. The call out fault was explained on the
phone as: "The washing machine will only take in water on a rinse cycle" ( no mention of any plumbing work being done to the
house). Can you see the connection? they did'nt!
As soon as I saw the extent of the plumbing being done, the connection was made.
Some clever plumber had diverted the hot water supply away from the machine!
If the plumbing was mentioned, technical advice could have been
given thereby avoiding the expense of an engineer.
Remember, always give a good account, don't hold anything back!
