Common refrigerator faults

Refrigerators come in all shapes and sizes. from conventional to frost free, side by side or top and bottom, under worktop or larder. The main problem with these are not freezing/cooling. Often its just a thermostat/defrost sensor or a service that is required to revive them.

Where parts are required, the overall costs are often much cheaper than a replacement refrigerator.

Hot tips

Fridges are cold if not wet and damp places. If you find excessive amount of water inside your fridge it is because the drain hole is blocked.

nice pic

Periodically your fridge will shut down. At shut down, ice will thaw. The water will drain out via a tube into a container on top of the compressor where it will evaporate.

The blockage can usually be cleared from within the fridge compartment.

Use something long and flexable, like a very long plastic tie, to insert into the hole which is usually on the ledge at the back of the fridge compartment.
